CORE Committee Mission Statement
Community, Opportunity, Respect, Engagement
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UC Santa Cruz is committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of our community. The department’s Community, Opportunity, Respect, Engagement (CORE) Committee works to promote a culture of access and opportunity for all by organizing seminars, workshops, and activities that enhance learning and research experiences. The committee, composed of students, staff, and faculty, collaborates to ensure fair hiring practices, facilitate professional development opportunities, and connect with other UCSC departments and organizations to provide resources for students, staff, and faculty. The CORE committee encourages open dialogue and welcomes input from the community. The work of the CORE committee intends to benefit all members of our Chemistry and Biochemistry community and is consistent with state and federal law, the UC Nondiscrimination Statement and the Nondiscrimination Policy Statement for University of California Publications Regarding Student-Related Matters.
