We are in solidarity with our Black Community. Institutional and structural racism and Anti-Blackness have no place in the sciences at UC Santa Cruz. We’re committed to confronting racism and discrimination. It’s time for action.

We’re developing an actionable anti-racism plan and timeline to:

  1. Engage with campus community members who may have been traumatized by racism, without unintentionally creating additional trauma
  2. Identify the ways that racism manifests in the experiences of our students, staff, and faculty at UC Santa Cruz
  3. Develop an understanding of how the experiences of off-campus racism are affecting the ability of our students, staff, and faculty to succeed when on campus
  4. Execute a division-wide dismantling of structural racism

We cannot do this without you. We recognize your experiences. We are listening to your voices. We are working toward solutions. Together, we will have real change. We are committed to dismantling institutional and structural racism and Anti-Blackness.

Let your voice be heard
