Neerav Handa is a parent of two UC Santa Cruz kids. His elder daughter graduated with BS in Biology in 2023 (Oakes College) and the younger daughter is a senior studying Computer Science and Bioinformatics (Cowell College). Neerav started the Manjusha Handa Cancer Research Award, an annual scholarship in the UC Santa Cruz Science division to honor his late wife Manjusha Handa who passed away from breast cancer. This award supports research projects in cancer research and is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need. Neerav also sponsored a bench on the East Field in UC Santa Cruz campus.
Neerav has more than 30 years experience in software development and works as Senior Director of Software Development at Oracle Corporation in Redwood Shores.
