The first UC Chemistry Conference on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) will be hosted at UC Santa Cruz on April 15th, 2022. The goal of the conference is to share the challenges and solutions toward achieving DEI in our departments and to build community around our shared interests. This first conference will emphasize the experiences of graduate students and faculty. In addition to our keynote speaker, we have planned three sessions focused on graduate student recruitment, graduate student mentoring and retention, and faculty recruitment and retention. Each session will consist of several speakers followed by panel discussion. Attendees are also invited to present posters in a late afternoon session.

This event is sponsored by the University of California Office of Graduate, Undergraduate, and Equity Affairs, and some funding is available to support travel. Additional resources will be available from each campus. If you would like to attend, contact your department DEI committee to inquire about available financial support for travel and registration.
